"Dancing with the Stars" contestant Lindsey Stirling was rushed to the hospital Sunday after sustaining a bad rib injury while practicing for the reality competition series. The violinist's participation on the show is now in jeopardy as she's reportedly been in "excruciating pain" following the mishap.

Insiders at the ABC show tell TMZ that Stirling suffered a possible separation of her rib while performing a quick dance move in a practice session with partner Mark Ballas, who later accompanied her to the hospital. The violinist, who was one of the show's frontrunners, may now be forced to pull out of Monday night's taping due to her physical condition.

Just one week ago, Stirling received a perfect score for her Argentine tango. Lead judge Len Goodman called her performance "brilliant," and his fellow judges were equally effusive. Following Stirling's routine, Carrie Ann Inaba declared, "You upped your game to something phenomenal. Bruno Tonioli felt her Argentine tango was "the best dance of the season," and guest judge Shania Twain praised the musician for being "elegant" and "graceful." As a result, Stirling received perfect 10s from each judge and the highest score of the night.

Stirling has been one of the show's top three scorers week after week. On a couple of occasions, she's tied for first place, while at other times she's missed the top spot by no more than a point. Prior to her injury, it was presumed that the finals of this season's "Dancing With The Stars" would come down to Stirling and Jordan Fisher.
