Personally, I think this punishment is cruel. They have destroyed any chance Sam had of bonding with anyone. The other punishment is a silly costume that hasn't interfered with game at all.

For our first Big Brother 20 live feed update in day 11, we want to spend a little bit of time resetting the state of things and figure out just where things can go in the game from here.

For starters, remember that Faysal one the Power of Veto last week, and based on all early conversations, he doesn't seem inclined to use it. This means that either Steve or Sam, in theory, will be leaving the game this week. Of course, that's complicated by the fact that Sam has the BB App Store power. She confirmed that to Tyler yesterday, and what we know at the moment is that she can, for a predetermined period of time, use it to either save herself or someone else who gets evicted. She's implied that she doesn't want to use it this week, so that means it come be useful down the line for her if she needs it.

  

What we do still wonder is this: Is this going to be like the Halting Hex in that she can halt an eviction and keep it from happening? If that does happen this week, it'd be rather insane to be going into day 20 or so of the game and still have all 16 people in the game. These people would probably be blowing a gasket by then!

On a side note, we really like the relationship between Tyler and Sam. In general, Tyler's the person who we've liked way more than we thought we would — he hasn't been perfect, but it seems like his head is in the game and he's tried to use his Head of Household to get as many allies as possible. He's also likable enough that he'll be able to descend into the background for a while after this.

  

The current alliances

We'd basically describe it as such: There is a powerful group of five (Swaggy C, Faysal, Haleigh, Rockstar, and Kaitlyn) and then another powerful group of six (Tyler, Winston, Brett, Kaycee, Rachel, and Angela). From there, things get a little messier. JC is closer to Tyler's side than the other, but nobody seems super-loyal to him. Meanwhile, Tyler is also close to Sam despite her being on the block. Meanwhile, on the other side Steve and Scottie (who are a pair at the moment) are closer to Swaggy C's group, and Swaggy is in a showmance with Bayleigh. Basically, Swaggy C has that five-person alliance plus Bayleigh, Steve, and Scottie. There are seven voting members on his side in comparison to only six on the other side. That's why, at least for now, Sam would be in trouble were it not for the power.

What's a little bit interesting about where we are in Big Brother 20 right now is that we've got the current targets, but then also the targets that lie on the other side of Thursday's eviction show.

If you've been following along with the live feeds, then you know already that pending some sort of enormous swing where she doesn't need the power, Sam is going to use it to save her hide this week from eviction.

  

Yet, regardless of what happens this week, we're feeling almost like next week's targets aren't even on the block right now. As reported earlier, there are effectively two different sides of the game — Winston's and then also Swaggy C's. Tyler has tried to tow the line, but he seems to be closer to Winston's and has just tried to lead the other side on. Moving into next week, it's clear that some on Winston's side want Swaggy out, just the people on Swaggy's side want to nominate Winston and Angela. The first few weeks of Big Brother are almost always the time to go big-game hunting, which is why it's never a great idea in order to be a leader early on in the game.

This week, Sam and Steve were safe nominations — yet, they were the best ones that Tyler may have thought he could make in that given moment. After all, you just have to remember here that the guy had the super-difficult situation of nominating from a small pool after Swaggy C won that earlier challenge and chose to keep two groups safe.

  

Now, everyone knows where the lines are — and they'll know even more come Thursday's eviction. What we do love about it taking so long to get to this eviction is that we're getting a pretty good idea of where everyone stands and how good everyone is at the game. Nobody is getting immediately screwed over.

Other things worth noting

JC is claiming to Winston's alliance that he "has the votes" to evict Steve, which has in turn led to Rachel and others wanting more information. Meanwhile, Sam is back in robot form, but she is at least getting a chance to spend some time outside in the process.

Big Brother 20 live feed spoilers: Kaitlyn's frustrations and more (day 11)

Big Brother July 1, 2018

Tonight marks the third full night of Big Brother 20 live feeds that we've had a chance to see, and as a whole, we've gotten a reasonably good sense as to how some of the players are going to operate.

Take, for example, Kaitlyn, who may be this season's "player who talks about wanting to make huge moves a lot but is never in power to do it." She'll be loved by a certain subset of BB Twitter for her shade, but until she makes a huge move it's hard to think of anything she says beyond just words. Yet, we do enjoy some of the commentary that she is offering up, most notably her frustrations over Sam and Steve being the nominees this week. While she seems ready to send Sam home if that ends up being the final choice, it is clearly not the choice that she wants. Personally, she would rather Tyler nominate someone else and make a bigger play — yet, Tyler is not going to do that. The issue here is that Tyler would probably nominate Bayleigh, and because Faysal seems to know that, he won't use the Veto.

  

Why did Tyler play this so conservatively in the first place? Tyler is more of the "guy who doesn't want to make a huge move so he can blend back into the background." He wants Sam to stay seemingly but doesn't want to save her with the Veto — on some level, he knows he doesn't need to since she told him about the twist that she has.. She can end up being safe, Tyler's Head of Household could be useless depending on how this works, and everything just finds its way back to where things started.

On a lighter note, Steve is the "player who remembers select details from past seasons but not names." Earlier, he called season 16 Caleb "Colby," so there's that.

  

On another note, Sam as a robot briefly crashed earlier and that caused her to have to reboot … just in case her week couldn't get any sadder.
